Task force makes arrests on drug, prostitution charges

After investigating complaints of illegal drug sales, drug use and prostitution, Wayne County Drug Task Force has made multiple arrests in Richmond.

Numerous citizen complaints about drug activity in the 200 block of North 19th Street led police to investigate the area, said Sgt. James Mastriano.

On Monday afternoon, Amy L. Goens, 45, was arrested on charges of possession of crack cocaine (a Level 6 felony) and possession of paraphernalia (a Class A misdemeanor). She is a resident of that block.

Goens was taken to the Wayne County Jail.

The task force will continue to investigate continued complaints of illegal drug sales and use in the North 19th Street area from East Main Street to North E Street, Mastriano said.

Three women have been arrested since Friday on prostitution charges, including two as a result of task force investigations and one by Hagerstown police.
